Hi guys, I normal just browse the awesome photos in these forums but today I have a request!

Getting my girlfriend a camera and I'm wonderig what the best options are. She has a great eye for taking a photo and I'd like to encourage her to take more.

I'm not thinking an SLR or anything that style just yet but I'd like something more advanced than a point and click.

Ideally something that can take a gerat photo but I feel if I got a large SLR/DSLR camera she may find it a little daunting...

I'm in work so this is brief but If you've any questions or need some more details I'll respond later.

Also if this is in the wrong forum please move!

    thanks.

No preferred brand at all. Budget 250-300-ish...

it might be out of your price range, but a canon powershot s100 would be a fairly decent camera that can still fit in your pocket, and take good pics. it has raw format also .. i think they are about €400 ish. but worth the money. or you could find an older s95, which would be nearly as good, but cheaper!
