going on irish ferries on friday as i am moving to the UK. are there any limit on the amount of suitcases or bags you can bring? and how strict are they with the weight on each bag?
i am planning on bringing 2 suitcases, a sports bag and a laptop bag. each suitcase will be reasonably heavy, but i will try to keep it around the 22kg mark as it states on their website that that is the limit.

    any info would be appreciated
    cheers

Can't give you much useful info, but I was surprised there's a limit. But I see from their luggage allowance page that they simply mean a maximum of 22kg per item, and they don't specify a limit on the number of items. So I guess the weight limit is just to avoid their luggage handlers injuring their backs, and not to restrict what you transport.

    From their website:

"Passengers are responsible for getting their own luggage to and from the luggage carousels and they must be able to comfortably carry it themselves."

Can you actually manage to carry "2 suitcases, a sports bag and a laptop bag"?

Yes, I wondered about that, but probably they mean "able to carry each item from a carousel to a trolley". I've not used Irish Ferries, but on Stena I have seen people with vast amounts of luggage transferring them bit by bit from a train to a trolley, and from a trolley to a luggage check-in.
