None on goods from anywhere in the EU.

You'll just need to pay the BRT (it's the cycling version of VRT), when you first register it in Ireland.

It goes off some formula to do with wheel size multiplied by the number of gears. This is partly why single speed bikes have become so popular recently.

Only kidding. There's no tax on anything you import from an EU country (except cars for some reason).

The EC has an on going case against the Irish government over the legality of VRT.

Anyone know where I can buy a fixed-gear Brompton?

Found one: Brompton Fixie; but even with that chain ring, the gearing must be well into granny territory.
