Car missing Aviva stadium

Hi guys, need a little help. A friend of mine was at a gig in the aviva stadium last night, but can't remember where she left her car

    It's a navy/blue renault clio registration

She thinks it was left in the shelbourne road area but can't see it. Obviously it could have been stolen but since she can't say for sure where she left it we'll assume it's not.

Be great if anybody spots it and lets me know.

    Thanks for reading.

    Guards could have taken it.

    Guards could have taken it.

Rang them. It's legally parked, so there's no issue until tomorrow when it may be clamped as there's no pay and display ticket on it.

I'd get down there before the light fades and start driving around.

Tried that. No joy. She's absolutely clueless and confused, no sense of direction.

    Is she blonde?

Take a bike along and cycle all the roads in the area maybe?

Check every street around the vicinity on google street view until you find it. DO NOT try this using only google maps as it is not updated regularly - must be street view. ;)

    Any update on this OP?

She's out patrolling the streets with the garda right now. For some reason it hasn't been clamped, so Dublin city council can't tell us where it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,249 ✭✭✭pippip

If it does get clamped its €80, probably should have put a €50 reward on it put a notice on the Running forum, sure a few joggers might locate it pretty fast.

Good to see the gardai tackling such important tasks.

This thread is all sorts of genius. I'm only sad that it wasn't the owner themselves that came and made the topic.

Then again, she'd probably post once and never be able to find her way back to read or respond to it! :D

Happy ending. Guards from irishtown station helped locate it. Funnily enough no clamp/ticket/anything amiss whatsoever.

Lesson learned. Next time she wants to go the city centre she can take the bus!

I don't understand why she needed the guards for this? Ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with a bit of help from those who can offer it. Fair play to the guards, I'm sure the lady in question considered it important to here to know if her car was stolen or not.

    This attitude against Guards...yawnorama. Seriously

Yeah get over it, they were very helpful and nice to her. They did give her more time than she maybe deserved but more power to them. Pretty obvious that if it was you she ran to you'd be as useless as tits on a bull.

I am frankly in awe at this thread. Seriously, somebody not having even a FAINT IDEA about where she parked? I mean, everybody has spent 10 minutes trying to locate his/her car in one of those labyrinthic shopping centre parking lots once or twice in their lives; However, to completely, totally and hopelessely forget about the whereabouts of your car in a town? Not even remembering the street, square or alley she left it in?:eek::eek:

How comes that this person, with apparently no orientation nor spatial awareness is even allowed to drive a motor vehicle? I sincerely hope this has just been a case of one or four cocktails too much last night... :P

To be fair, she gave us the marque, model, colour, and registration number.

This could have been a thread looking for a 'bluey green car'.

No booze involved. Just someone who's far too laid back. She was even talking about giving up on it and just buying another car

Has it occurred to either of you that more time spent looking for her car means less time left for those in genuine need?

I'm sure they're integrating it into standard patrolling, they have radio's if needed. If anyone is in genuine need makes a phonecall for help, I'm sure the guards involved will respond to that call.

Agree with EnterNow. Im sure they'd apologise and be on their way. They get a lot of bad press but they're just doing their best in a difficult job.

That reminds me of something that happened a few years ago. A family friend was over one day and she told me her son, (whom I went to school with), had gotten a new car. I asked her what it was. "You know, a red one" she replied. Turned out to be a silver 320d :pac:
