Saddened to see the news about the father and two sons who died in a slurry pit up North today. One of the sons was 22-year old Nevin Spence, one of a group of players on the Ulster Rugby team who have been very open and vocal about their Christian faith.

Eternal rest grant to him O Lord, may perpetual light shine apon him....as only you can do Lord.

    May he rest in peace.

Yeah, it's hard to understand a tragedy that strikes to the heart, except perhaps by the prayers of the community, every one expressing their family relationship and support to his parents, everybody who feels pain can empathise and maybe look apon the Cross and see more. I can't even imagine losing my child - it must be one of the most trying things ever..God comfort and have everlasting mercy to those who know that deep loss. Words fail, but God provides comfort where words can't go.

awful to loose a father and two sons in ANY family.

Catastrophic loss in a farming family.

It'll be a LOOOOOONG road for the sister & the rest of the family.

Just couldn't believe it, when I heard it on the radio this morning.

The Spence family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Words fail me, a family has been destroyed. Thoughts and prayers for all concerned, particularly their sister Emma who is recovering from the effects of the fumes in hospital.

Tragic accident. I remember the ad on tv for farm safety as a kid. The bit about a kid drowning in the slurry pit always horrified me.
