Only new to the forum and cycling myself, but I was wondering if there was anyone on here who are going for a spin tomorrow morning, sun 16? I was going to do the Errigal cycling club's harvest tour but I see its been cancelled due to a bereavment, which is always sad.

Hi. I'm not too far away but much too shy to ID my location and too **** a cyclist to volunteer to cycle with someone else yet. Home you get someone nearby. FB

From Ballybofey myself. Only cycling a few months and mostly on my own but thinking of joining a club to get used to cycling in company and hopefully to improve.

LK bikes in letterkenny are doing a 20ish mile spin leaving from their shop every Wednesday evening at 6.30 (soon to be 6 though with dark nights) good wee run, nothing hectic average speed was about 14 MPH all good craic. About 20 cyclists last week ;)

    +1
In letterkenny area but not confident to go along with anyone,
Have some good and some very bad days,
Started last year for sligo run, mate started too and it was great motivation to get out,
He hasn't been on bike this year and I definitely haven't been nowhere near as motivated/enthusiastic doing solo spins through this year...
Hence thinking of joining a group or club.....
Made contact with Errigal club and I am seriously considering them for next year......see a lot of their jerseys in letterkenny area..
They said not worthwhile joining now as membership will expire end of year,
Wait and join start of 2013 to get full value.....

    Hey Homer Simpson,

I take it this is open to everyone or do you have to be a member of a club? Sounds like fun and would be a good excuse to get out. Do they do a weekend run too as it won't be long before its dark at 5.00.

    Cheers

What route do they go? I'd be interested in doing that as the time suits me.

Sorry Ain't got a clue recently, out towards churchill and back into LK the back way the time I done it. I was in ordering new bike this week and he invited me to join them again, I didn't know it started up again. It's open to everyone he says. Weather depending I'll go next week.

Might just do the same. That's a nice spin, more or less completely flat except for the 1km drag after you pass the turnoff for glenties.

Nope no club, just show up on the night. Honestly don't know if they do plan changing the spin to weekend's or not. It would make sense all the same.

Yeah, it's a handy wee route in fairness. A lot handier than the 3k slog I do from manor roundabout - magherabeg most times I go out :pac:

four masters (if your reasonably quick) they do run 2 groups if enough slower guys turn up http://www.fourmasterscycling.com/

errigal you seem to know about

donegal town now has donegal bay 4 groups off this sunday (might even drag my fat ar*e out with one of them)
    they are on facebook https://www.facebook.com/donegaltowncyclingclub
Thinking about doing a club run?

People who enjoy cycling are sometimes reluctant to join clubs because they feel that they will be left behind. Come along on a Saturday or Sunday morning, and we will ensure that there is a run to suit your ability. You will learn so much from experienced cyclists in a very short time. Furthermore you will enjoy the banter as you go along.

    As well as learning a
bout cycling, joining a club will mean that you are insured through Cycling Ireland - most of your club fees go to Cycling Ireland and not to Donegal Bay CC.

There will be 4 group spins on offer from the council offices, Donegal Town this Sunday morning leaving at 9am. A new group that will cater for those that want a little bit more than the fun group has been established and is ideal for beginners.
    *Group 1 90 to 100k
    *Group 2 60 to 70k
    *Group 3 30 to 40k
    *Fun Group
In addition to the above we are continuing with our youth spins for 12 to 16 year olds from the St. John Bosco Centre, Donegal Town every Saturday morning at 10am.

there's tirchonnail gap in glenties https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tir-Chonaill-GAP-Cycling-Club/195195410509063

Yeah that's a long drag up there but easier than lurgy and once you get as far as the Swilly inn pub you've a relatively level run the whole way to bridgend (more or less)

A nice spin from Letterkenny is to head north on the N56 via Kilmacrennan, Cresslough, Dunfanaghy, turning left at Falcarragh and back down behind Muckish and to Gartan, Church Hill and back into Letterkenny. End it off with a sprint up the Back Road and on up to the Glencar roundabout. About 90kms.
