    Spilit beteween two cars

    Honda Accord 2.2 ex 2009 56k miles @ €19950
    Skoda Superb Elegance 1.9 2009 60k miles @ €16500

Is the honda worth the extra? ( intend mapping the Skoda to improve its performance)

After 5 years what value would they have lost?

    Your opinions please

In 5 years time both cars will be 8-9 years old, resale value will not be a whole lot on either so I would not be so hung up on it. The engine in the Superb is ancient and unrefined but the up side is they are less complex and cheaper to put right than modern diesel engines.

I'd still take the Accord though, the Superb has rear ugly styling that I simply could not bear to look at everyday.

Superb is not pretty but I have no issue with that.
In 5 years how would they be valued?
leaning the Hondas way but want to justify the extra 3 grand

Look at 2004 examples for a rough idea :)

honda has to be one of the only car makes that we see for service items only. We constantly have vag stuff with expensive faults on relatively new cars 07/08

    Thanks all
Would the skoda be worth a punt if it was mapped.

Remapping is a plus, if it was done right

Honda for me, comfort, just lovely.

The Skoda doesn't match it in that regard.

Is this the Honda? Defo the Honda. I think it would keep a better value than the Superb.

I think it only became standard on the Elegance from 2010 onwards.

I'd be concerned what's going to happen to tax on the 2.2 in December. Could hurt the resale value.

    €20k is pricy for a 2009 Accord.

Here is one for €1k less:

No it only came standard in 2010.

For 2010, they added sat nav, park assist - and dropped the price by 5k.
