Boardsies on Instagram?

Oddly after 10 years of digital photography Instagram has brought me full circle back to just taking photos on a regular basis wherever I might be without the preparation of having all my SLR photo gear, the intrusion of using it or the seriousness to feel I should spend a weekend curating or in the digital darkroom after a shoot.

It's not a replacement for my photoblog or taking 'proper' photos but it's great fun both posting and consuming the pics in my stream from who I follow.

I'm focus_pocus_org on there, I know there's at least a few boardsies on such as pullandbang and I'm seeing some great stuff in the camera phone thread. So who else is on there? how about sharing your Instagram username in this thread?

I agree - i rarely work with my 'real' cameras outside projects now (something i don't like about myself..), but instagram has allowed me to take shots just for the sheer hell of it i love it! I'm sineadmcdonald. Lots of nonsense on my stream..

I don't really get it, to be honest.

lots of junk on mine. shítty 3GS cam. lots of shoe, farm and dog pics.. lol
i tend to integrate some hipstamatic pictures onto my instagram feed also.

my camera is gathering dust at the minute. I got burned out on it. Nothing was working out, no good photos being taken sigh. Hopefully ill bounce back strong at some point!

I am somewhat addicted to checking my Instagram feed. Mainly from an art perspective. I like following artists that are showing the "in progress" snaps of their work. Think it's a great way to see how people get from idea to finished piece.

Predictably I'm @pullandbang on Instagram too. I only post pics from my phone and am actively unfollowing those who post pics from their cameras. I'm also unfollowing anyone who posts HDR or those who flood my feed with pics one after the other.
I'm getting to be a grumpy miserable oul sod in my old age

im karlb21 only have phone pics on it one of my most used apps they're from my galaxy s2 but upgraded to the s3, I always have my phone with me and i find it handy to take and share the photos there.

I never post pics from my Big camera (Oooops, just checked, there are a few from a Kiss gig, but that was only when i was new to Instragram ), they're all from my HTC One X.

I have a Canon 500D but hardly use it, when i was on holiday i found that my One X took awesome pics, and fits neatly in my pocket.

Anyone help me out wit this, whats the story with hash tags on instagram? Do they work the same as twatter? Some friends put a small sentence as description then hash tag 10/15 things!!

Yep, go to the "top pics" thing and you can search tags up the top of that page.

A friend of mine on Instagram asked me to find out about how to put a copyright logo on photos that are already on Instagram? Is this possible? (She was approached by someone to use her photos for something or other so she wants peace of mind).

And I'd like to know how to do it too if anyone has tried before, please let us know

It is possible to this, but it's a bit roundabout. You can take the image with the normal camera on phone, then there are apps which will allow you to put text over the image. Such as Phonto on iPhone. Then import to instagram. But to be honest I never bother, if some of your photos are that precious why chuck them up on instagram? And like I said its a bit of work!

Thank you. I'll pass it on.....I actually tried about 6 months ago to put copyright on instagram photos, and indeed its hard work, and like ye say, if something is precious, don't put it up!!
