I have a 4yr old terrier type male dog who has been getting very agressive in the last few months.Am wondering if I get him neutered, would it calm him down a bit?

Getting him neutered could help, but it's not a guaranteed fix as the aggression probably has an aspect of behaviour too. Can you give us some idea of situations in which he's aggressive and some people might be able to offer training tips. If you give your general location then someone might be able to recommend a trainer in your area.

ETA: a vet check may be in order too. Sudden aggression can be a sign of underlying pain.
