Hello I am a foreigner(from an Eu country) and next year in June I will finish secondary school.I expect to get over 500 points and to follow an economics course at Trinity College Dublin. My family can't help me financially and we are struggling with money. The only way I could still stay In Ireland is to get a job,by working part time after College.

I will be 19 in January.Do you think it possible for me ,a foreigner to get a summer job in July, full time, any type of job? I have no job experience,I live in Ireland for 3 years,I really need this.I can see that the unemployment rate is going high and I'm thinking negatively that I won't be able to get a job.I would like to do any jobs.I think I will get an A1-A2 in German at Leaving Cert.Maybe give grinds could help,I don't know.I really need to know if it possible to get any minimum wage jobs in Ireland,my parents also don't seem to care about the fact that I would like to follow third level education which really makes me feel depressed now.

Also if somebody knows any information about college,I wanted to ask school careers councils ,however they are busy now and I can only talk from Friday on.I found out that college is tax free and that there is also some grand available,if you know the grand sum please write.

    Thank you.

If you have German (and maybe other) language skills, you are a lot better off than most.

Look for call-centre work: there may well be places that will offer you evening/weekend work during the term time, and possibly full-time over the summer too.

Some people see call centres as soul destroying - but IMHO it's nicer work than cleaning, serving takeaways, clearing glasses in pubs, stacking shelves in supermarkets, etc.
