    Hi Folks,

After getting the bathroom fitted out with a shower we now need to have it tiled. We're also going to do by the counter tops in the kitchen and by the sink in the downstairs bathroom. However....

1 - The tiler has said he'll need to get a plumber in to lift the sinks and toilets. Is this normal?

2 - We got four tubs of semi-liquid adhesive from the shop. The tiler has stated we should swap these for powdered adhesive (such as for the floor, but a different colour) as it's better quality. Is this the case?

    Yes to both questions.

    Tiler does tiling.

Plumber is there for sanitary fittings, piping and fitting or removing them.;)

    Yes to both

But to be honest. A good tiler will do simple plumbing however as this is mains water at the kitchen sink the tiler might not want to touch it.

Mains valves are nortorious for leaking while your working around them.

Tiler should be fit to plumb the sanitary wear, it will be an extra cost for you remember so ask how much its going to cost for him to do it.
