    Hi folks -

I'm getting married in January in Cork and looking for recommendations for a good reportage/documentary style photographer. I've tried a few already mentioned here (Roger Overall, Phililp Bourke) but they aren't available.

    Can anyone help? Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions guys - please keep them coming! :)

On a side note, how much should I be expecting to pay? A good photographer deserves what they earn, but I don't want to get my pants pulled down... :o

Magda Lukas or Brosnan photography both are based in Cork I think and their work is amazing. Magda Lukas especially. For a good photographer expect to pay €1500 at the minimum I'd say.

Try Miki Barlok. He is new to weddings but his photography is absolutely astoundingly beautiful. So different, unique poses. He really is an artist!

You will find him here! :)

actual press photographers that I know personally and would recommend are:

    Ger McCarthy (www.germac.ie)
    Miki Barlok (www.barlokphoto.com)
Ken O Halloran and Julien Behal (www.kohweddings.com)

Ken and Julien are based in Dublin - but will travel, I will hopefully be having them for my own wedding next August - they recently did Caroline Morahan's wedding in Italy, Ger McCarthy - my sister had him for her wedding.

Ken/Julien have both won lots of awards for their press work, so has Ger - I dont think Miki enters the PPAI (I could be wrong - but cant remember seeing his name) - either way, as a press photographer myself - those are who I would recommend - none of them are cheap though.

Ted Murphy or John Roche. They're in the same studio in Cork City. Right by Paul St by Tesco's. Both excellent. Ted took our wedding pictures and both are reasonable.

Insight photography in Mitchelstown, great work and good value. All our guests thought she was a friend as she got all our family names from me in a pre wedding meeting. Couldn't believe she remembered them all! She also did a slide show before our first dance! really added to our day!

Think it's the same photographer my friend had for her wedding. She's really good...

Hi All. My daughter got married recently and we had the pleasure of having Trish from Insight Photography, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork do the photography. Jane my daughter and all our family were delighted that Trish did the photos as she became one of the family on the day. From the moment she arrived at the house she put jane at ease and really kept everyone working to schedule which was a great support to my husband and I. The slideshow of photos that night before the first dance was the highlight for us, the humour it generated on the night and following day was tremendous..
We have no hesitation in recommending Trish, a thorough professional.
