Came across something last week about Ethanol / E10 being stopped because it was doing damage to fuel tanks / engines. Here's an earlier US report.

Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard and Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger (CDU) have prepared a draft, which is to move the 27 EU countries mark a turning point in terms of biofuel.

The path from climate savior to scapegoat was short. Not since the thrust of Development Minister Dirk Niebel (FDP) for an E10 biofuel is halting sales in Germany in the pillory. All environmental groups speak of a costly mistake.
After the European Commission has for years touted fuel plants as medicines to combat excessive greenhouse gas reduction in traffic and promoted, they will now get the genie back in the bottle.
