Need help on deciding on modules for final year bcomm in NUIG. I am taking the accounting steam there are 8 core modules I must take and then need to pick two this semester and next. Probably plan on taking a master of accounting next year.

Do any modules standout here that anyone would advise to take. Next semester, I am going to take taxation 2 and business finance 2 so there decide on just have to pick for first semester.

Was thinking of Applied Econometrics because I like maths and stats and economics and Management Decision Systems cause it looks handy.

Suppose does it really matter what I pick. Here’s a list of electives for first semester. Thanks a lot for any reply’s, have missed the first two weeks of college due to getting shingles after a week holiday aboard great timing I know, so kind of stuck now and need to decide.

    Operations Research

    Comparative Competition Law

    Industrial and Intellectual Property Law

    International Trade Law

    Insurance Law

    Company Law I

    International Business Law

    New Enterprise Development

    Management Decision Systems

    Advanced Business Law

    Human Resource Management

    Media & Marketing Communications

    The Marketing of Services

    Applied Econometrics

    Money And Banking

    Web & Interactive Media Design

You will need to do either advanced business law or company law to satisfy the law exemption in the professional exams, for ACA at least. Not sure about ACCA.

I done business law for the full year in first year so maybe that would suffice?, wish I hadn't missed last two weeks.

Anyone else got any ideas or suggestions, Cheers

I think you'll find, if you do further research, you'll see you will actually have to take one of the above mentioned law modules to acquire full exemptions for CAP 1.

OK thanks I better check into this first thing Monday. That aside, would it probably be advisable to take some more Law anyway? suppose it is important to be familiar with company Law.

Well once you satisfy the exemptions you should probably just pick something that interests you or you find easy. No need to make it harder on yourself.
