    Hi guys,

    Just wondering if anyone has heard of this crowd?

    Only asking 'cos it's close to me so could pop up and take a look, however, from the you-tube clips I've seen, it looks a bit aikido-like and the description sounds a bit unusual. My gut is not to even bother tbh, but just thought I'd post up in case someone has experience of it?

    Garry Hodgins is the coach, and is a solid martial artist! (my old sparring partner in fact)
    The style is based on fluidity, it's like a Rusian internal martial art.

    i dont want to be bashing, but it looks a bit like one touch knockout mixed with akaido.

    solid would not be a word id use.

    I don't know anything about systema to be honest. I believe Garry picked it up while living in the US.

    But he has wrestled and fought internationally in Chinese wrestling and sanda back in the day. Hes in a photo in te results page of wudang sanshou site, wearing a silver medal for open weight in 2002 tccfe European, incidently smacl who posts here is too with his gold... 5 of is went over and came back with 15 medals ie in every format. Anyway Gary still drops down to the odd class to spar with me.

    Based on my experience with Gary, someone who has walked the walk, and is pretty discerning about effectiveness, I can't imagine him entertaining any flashy nonsense, like some of the stuff in that clip. It's not like at a solid 115-120kg and towering above most of us mortals he needs to make up ****.
