    Hi All

I started an internship with Jobbridge last week of July and I am wondering how long should it take to start receiving payment? I have rang my social office a number of times and they just keep telling me that they received nothing from jobbridge. They were very unhelpful and told me to stop ringing!! jobbridge has said everything is gone through and she gave me date of when stuff was send in. Just wondering how long should I be waiting for payment and who should be chasing jobbridge to send information, me or social??? Or does anyone know of anyone else i can contact.

Go into your social welfare office and talk to someone. To tell you to stop ringing is out of order, you're entitled to ring and get your information. Their job is to assist you with things like this, if they don't want to do their job maybe they can give it to one of the thousands they're employed to help instead.

Response from your SWO is not good enough.

Are you still picking up your normal SW payment?

I agree that it was out of order for them to tell you to stop ringing. At the end of the day it is your responsibility to chase up jobbridge e.g. host company to ensure that they have sent in the necessary form. Ask them when they forwarded to to sw. If at this stage they have forwarded it and sw have not received it then get jobbridge to forward a copy of the original form sent.

It should only take a week or two max. Call into your social welfare office and demand to see someone

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Thanks guys for advice. I finally got social sorted. Its amazing what they do when you say you ring your local TD. It was total laziness by one woman in there that would not make a simple phone. She prefer to have my file on her desk gathering dust than make a simple phone call.
