I would be very careful it would depend on the scope but most if not all require an export licence now and some can't leave the country at all, it is a felony to try and export one without one. That being said I know people who have, but I would'nt want to be caught by some horrible tsa agent who would enjoy flexing their authority.

Was quoted only last week Federal Law when I was trying to buy a Burris Speed Bead for a SBE 11, be very careful in the US buying anything on their ever growing export restriction list.Do it online through Canada even with the duty it is still a good deal,& dollar is weakening by the day against Euro

Just recently sent an inquiry to http://www.theriflescopestore.com/ if he could ship to Ireland when seen he displayed that he shipped to a list of almost all EU countries.

    Their replied began with

"Due to a recent changes in US Export Law, we can send scopes to Ireland."

Did mention that could be liable for import duty. But still a considerable saving on the scope I'm interested in.

So appears restriction has been lifted although seems many dealers over there are not aware of it, not surprising as Ireland could be on the moon as far an many over there know.

As for OP, yes. Have brought scopes back a few times for others when on business over there. Never stopped this end to date.

How did you get on Constab2?

Placed my order for scope and new mounts about the same time, UPS tracking link supplied with order confirmation shows it has passed customs clearance and Dublin sorting facility so hope to have it today or tomorrow.

I've taken a few home in my baggage and my sister also posted my Sightron to me...
    I never had any problems.

I once took bag a wheeler scope lapping kit. When I opened my bag a few days later it had a sticker on it saying 'inspected by federal customs' or something like that....

    How much did you save.

In my case, mine arrived today but was also not at home so collect tomorrow, €124 customs & excise due

Leupold VX-R, 1.25-4x20mm with FireDot German #4 reticle, Leupold Duick detachable bases and 2 sets of QD rings with shipping came to €481

Only found one seller in Germany with this scope in stock for €499 + €20 postage, same set of bases and rings from UK were well over €200 + postage.

Main thing was I found what I wanted, from one seller, a bonus that I saved upwards of €130
