Repeating First year (Again)

I have a few questions and any help would be much appreciated. First off I have done first year Arts twice now and had no real passion for it (except psychology). I am taking a year out and I want to return in September 2013. What I want to know is what fees will I be liable for and will I be able to pursue Psychology for the 3 years if I pass all my subjects this time around, despite failing on the two previous occasions. Also how would I go about applying to repeat the year this time around?

I think that because you've already repeated once, you'll have to reapply via CAO. Not sure though - talk to the head of the faculty.

As for fees, again the head of the faculty.

In fact, for all of your questions as well as the ones you haven't thought of yet, go to the head of the faculty. One of the jobs is to deal with situations like yours.

If you don't care about the course, why are you trying to do it again? Careers office might be able to help you out more.

One of the professors told me that the maximum you can fail a subject is thrice.

Thanks for your reply. I like Psychology but don't have the points to enter it directly so I have to go through Arts. Again cheers.

Check with College Office re taking a year out and your options for return on 2013. They prob won't know the fees but fees office could help... But they won't know how much in 2013/14 yet. 2012/13 repeat fee is 1600. E

My girlfriend is repeating first year and was told that if she did psychology for first year this time she wouldnt be allowed to conite it into second year because she is a repeat. Think it's the same for IT due to limited places.

Yeah I was told the same thing when I repeated first year but what I want to know is after taking a year out and then re applying through the CAO or repeating will I be able to pursue Psychology? Cheers.

Have you asked the relevant department in the college or the students union? Surely you'd be better off asking them directly?
