Hi, hope someone can give me some indication of what one would charge to clean someones house?
Finding it hard to find a part-time job so I'm thinking about starting to clean peoples houses but have no idea what to charge.

    thanks in advance

Depends on where you are. In South Dublin its €10-12 PH

Feck per hour. Most places will do flat rate, so the person doesn't take the piss. A few people pay €35 for what equals 3 hours work, but if they do it in less than 3 hours, still gets the €35 - this promotes efficiency rather than someone who'll the 3 hours work load in 4 hours to get more money.

Oh, and word of mouth means more business.

My ex does this, €10 ph but if it involves ironing it is a bit more

Always make sure to agree what's to be done, a lot will try to screw you, with the likes of "as you're there would you give the windows a quick wipe" or unrealistic expectations of what can be done in 1 or 2 hours.

What would you be looking to pay for a days work say 9-5 House Deep Clean, The full shebang

Thanks for the replies. I plan on doing the cleaning while my daughter is in creche so ive 3 hours free every morning. I like the idea of a flat rate, makes sense.

I'll defo be careful to make sure we're all clear on whats being done. The last thing I want is any sort of misunderstanding leading to an unsatisfied customer!

My mother does this. She on average gets paid 10-15 ph. But a lot of the people she cleans for have a set number of hours (usually 3hr) and then she finishes up. I agree witht the person above...a ot have unrealistic expectations in that time frame...clearly people who have never had to clean much before!
