    laptop is running savage slow just now so did a c-a-d and found this on the system - is it a virus? also mbamservice takes up a huge amount of memory usage

    Edit - by the time I had the post typed that wuauclt had gone............should I be worried??

    It's the windows automatic update thingy as far as i know.

    It is most likely your windows update tool running.

    mbamserive is malwarebytes, do you have a paid version or running the trial?
    sometimes it can take up so resocurces.

    what o/s and what specs are you pc?

    Today is Patch Tuesday. Must be very old computer?

    Turn off automatic updates and run it yourself when you're not using Computer.

    Or get more RAM.
