Possible job offer on here, I was wondering how long the Red Luas line takes between Abbey Street and citywest and what the frequency of the trams would be in this route?

The Luas site gives the impression there are no direct trams, is this correct?

Every other tram on the Red Line during most of the day serves Citywest - any tram with Saggart as the destination does.

I pretty much thought that was the case - but the LUAS site seemed to make it seem somewhat different.

Be interested to know the duration between the two stops. I'm currently commuting to Ballsbridge, but a role has come up in Citywest I may be interested in and I'm just curious to know the commute times if I did go for the job and used public transport.

I know there is a private bus that runs from the city centre, but it arrives too late to be of use.

I'd allow 40-45 mins for the journey from Abbey Street to Citywest, the frequency during the day is approx 10 mins and connecting trams are available from Belgard early in the morning/late evening when no direct trams are run. Good luck! :)

Departures are every 10 minutes from Connolly - Saggart between 8 and 9 o clock with the journey time of 43 mins between abbey and citywest.

I'd be looking to get a tram around or just before 7am on occasions, as sometimes I would be starting at 8.00 others 9.00. I take it that is no direct trams at this time?

I would need to go to Belgard and change? That being the cast do the trams connect directly or is there a wait which would push the time up to the hour mark?

Early mornings and late evenings do involve a change at Belgard when a shuttle runs from there to Saggart.

Typically, there is a direct change, with the Saggart tram leaving within about a minute of the Tallaght one. The connection is usually directly across the platform.
