    Hi all

Can anyone recommend a good free program that is able to recognise duplicate Music file, Photo's Etc. I have alot of music (too much to go through myself.) If it is not allowed to recommend software on boards I also understand.

    Regards

    Colm Towey

Have a look for 'beyond compare 2'. That will check for duplicates of everything.

This is probably better in the general computer tech section... moving.

I'm using Total Commander, which offers two ways of finding duplicate files, file search (advanced) and folder synchronisation. Not only by name but also by file size and indeed content. Of course, TC is a lot more than just a duplicate finder, a true "Swiss army knife" for file management (even made in Switzerland). ;)

Total Commander is shareware and remains fully functional after the trial period has expired, but it's worth every penny your man is asking for (€32 at the current exchange rate).

Note: always be careful with removing duplicates, many system files exist in two or more locations for a reason.

    I have this:
    http://www.easyduplicatefinder.com/

It used to be free but I dont know anymore as I still use the old free version. Tis a great program though.

    EDIT
Actually the newer versions seem to charge but I still have a copy of the old free version here:
