spray gun for machinery

    im doing a bit of restoration on an old ferguson 20. its running fine now, and was just starting to spray on primer when my spray gun wouldn't work. So i tried another - a new one, no luck. Thats the last time I will buy one of those from the back of a van!
    I need to get another one, so where did you buy yours, did it cost much and how do you find it?

    Well it worked fine a few times, now it wont work at all!

    Im no stranger to the white van, its not the worst thing to come around the place. you have to take your chances though!

    it wont suck up the paint from the cannister.
    i thought it was too thick, i had it thinned 4 to 1. so i thinned it further, and still no joy.
    so i tried with thinners alone, and no joy.
    i then took off the cannister and put my finger over the pick up pipe, and no suction.
    i turned the gun upside down, and put thinners into the pickup pipe and pulled the trigger, and it sprayed out perfect, so its deffo not clogged with old dry paint.
    there is a tiny hole in the top of the cannister, and this is not clogged up.
    i stripped the gun down, found a little clogged paint, cleared it, but it will only work on a gravity feed. eg upside down with the painr dribbling out the cannister vent all over what im spraying!

    any ideas?!
