Apartment with UPC connection point

    Freind of mine has moved into an apartment with a UPC connection point, at the moment she's not interested in paying for UPC. She has a Saorview tv with just the saorview channels at the moment. I have heard that the UPC point can be used to access some other channels. I am not all that up on the subject so I could be wrong too of course.

    Would be very grateful if anyone could clarify this for me, or even advise on other options that aren't Sky or UPC. Can other boxes be used with the UPC connection point that doesn't require a subscription?

    If you are wanting to use a UPC point or connection to receive channels then you will need to pay for it. Saorview is a Aerial DTT system.

    The options are
    1) Pay UPC (minimum of around 23 per month; digital value package)

    2) Install a dish on a south facing wall or balcony (if allowed). This will allow the UK channels without any monthly charge. Once off setup of around 200 euro.
