Yeah I did, went for the Commission side though. Got the Commission lists today and they're only taking 20 people, I had originally thought they were going to take one per member state.
I wonder how many people applied seeing as it wasn't massively advertised.

    Hey,

I applied for the EEAS. Only 2 per MS is pretty low. I imagine the competition is still tough, notwithstanding the apparent lack of advertising.

    Good luck!

What do you mean? all the lists, Commission and EEAS, are contained in documents listed on the right of this page
    http://eeas.europa.eu/delegations/jed/index_en.htm

I got a rejection email from the DFA, haven't gotten feedback yet though they claim there was a high number of high caliber candidates.

I mean that at point 7. of the application form there is a "Preference Order" where I suppose i had to list the list of 3 country i wish and then next to it you have "Name of the EU Delegation/traineeship position", where i could find the name of those positions? All I see is the attachment of first and second list of delegations either EEAS or Commision.

    Thank you

EEAS deadline was before The Commission deadline. Therefore even if you could find the EEAS list, it would be futile.

Yeah the DFA deadline for both has long passed.

Did anyone here get a call back? Is there an interview stage or did they just send your application onto the EEAS/Commission?

I'd love to know what their pre-selection criteria matrix is like.

Im from UK, so its the DFID for me. I haven't heard anything yet. From memory I believe they send a list off to The Commission, then they send a smaller list to the delegations, then they make the final choice.

Yes I understand now , do we have to consider for the preferance order both 1 and 2 list of Commission position ? I think they will resond after the deadline.
    Thanks again guys !

Do you happen to have a link to the DFID page on this handy? I was looking through their site recently but couldn't find it.

As far as I know list 1 are positions definitely available and list 2 are ones which may become active if the funding is secured. In my application I listed 2 from the first list and 1 from the second.

The timescale is the same for all MS I believe. I am going by the timescale listed under "Steps & Indicative Timelines for the 1st selection round
    " @ http://eeas.europa.eu/delegations/jed/index_en.htm

I find it odd that the DFA rejected you, because in "Steps & Indicative Timelines for the 1st selection round
    " @ http://eeas.europa.eu/delegations/jed/index_en.htm it says

    Selection of preselected candidates (Delegations/EEAS/COM) = mid-November 2012
Communication of results to candidates & MS = December 2012
Traineeship Offers sent to validated candidates (EEAS) = December 2012

I interpret this to mean that in December one will be rejected or accepted.

Ah right I see, the Irish Dept. for Foreign Affairs set a separate deadline for Irish applicants on the 7th of September. I've no idea why, seems a bit silly.

    http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=85801

    That's the DFA application site.

Yes exactly what I thought, it seems the DFA have established some other application criteria that isn't specified by the EEAS/Commission and aren't passing on all Irish applications. I don't understand their logic.
