Circular windscreen disc holders...

What do you think of the Richbrook circular disc holders?

I was thinking of getting three of them in either plain black or silver for each of the windscreen discs.

Alternatively, I could get the following windscreen holder in plain back:

Which do you think looks the best?

But 2 out of 3 of your windscreen discs are not circular ...

I personally think, lack of any crappy discs on windscreen looks the best.

I've seen this done many times up here and it looks ridiculous, seeing the insurance and NCT discs scrunched to suit...

We have those 3 disc holders for a reason :)

I've seen people put their discs into those round ones, looks ridiculous.

    Not any more.
I had to move them back to windscreen after I installed dashcam, which prevents passenger sunvisor to open fully. :(

I can just fold them up to fit.

That's the point were trying to make, it looks fairly desperate

Why not get the 3 disc holder and set it like this:

I have 2 magnetic circular ones. Look good and take up no more space than the discs themselves. One of the few benefits of still being occupied by the brits! :p

Do the discs on the windscreen must be originals, or can be copies?

If they can be copies, you scan your discs, put 3 LCD displays, and program them to display you discs.
    :D

Ha! I think the NCT and tax have to be originals. Not sure about insurance but I would imagine so.

If you go into Halfords you can get a magnetic disk holder for your insurance, nct and tax - the tax is circular. It's much neater than those horrible plastic pouch things that tear, melt in the sun etc etc etc.

    That's how I have mine.

Added bonus is pissing myself laughing at checkpoints at the gardaí cocking their heads sideways to read them :D

The clear plastic roll of film for covering school books is what I've used up until recently. Cut 3 pieces about and inch bigger all round than each disc and put them on the window. Nothing more than the size of the disc is blocked and one roll, if kept , will well outlast the car :)

+1 on this method. It looks well, and blocks your vision less. Just be sure to turn in one corner before sticking to window - makes it a lot easier to remove when the time comes.

I know a lot of bikers use copies on the bike, with the real motor tax disc kept on the biker, but that's due to theft issues. The Gardaí don't mind once a biker can show a valid disc when requested

Not sure how they'd treat car drivers with a copy disc on display. But I was at a checkpoint recently where someone had a non legit disc on display and I over heard a Garda saying they'd of been better off with nothing on the window than whatever they had.
