The two big ones would be Sammy Bensons and City Rhythm.
Not sure of how to join but maybe google them and get a number.

sorry for digging this up, but did you ever find out how to go about joining one? and about learning while you're there and whatnot? went to the band parade today and realised yet again how great they all are!

Was there today too with the kids, loved it, very well organised, mine are still young and am going to start her off on the tin whistle at school. i never contacted any of the bands sorry....

When asking the young one what instrument she wanted to play today she said she wanted to do the naked dancing...

City Rhythm practice most Monday nights in school term in Ardscoil Mhuire Corbally from 7pm to 9pm. Miriam Dawson is the bandmaster - if you go along she'll give you the info. She's at St Brigid's Church on Patrick's Road on Wednesdays form 6pm.
It's the best band for young kids in Limerick - Sammy Benson's band is mostly older and it's getting smaller every year.
