Macklin looked really good last night.

Beautiful combinations, eliminated any distance Alcine could've had with his arm length advantage and worked from the jab real good.

Would love to see Macklin in with Daniel Geale next.

Macklin was simply back at his scintillating destructive best.

Puts him right back in the world title mix now.

Positioning himself miles ahead of Lee, Murray and British favourite Barker.

Macklin is, and has been. world-class for a few years now. To blow away an ex-world champion and someone with only two losses on their record is as clear a statement of intent as you can get.

It really would be one of the sport's great injustices if Macklin doesn't secure a world title now that's he's risen so high and already has one visionary world title victory under his belt.

Macklin is the Andy Murray of Tennis one year ago , good enough and he will get his chance again

He will get another title shot but he would need to be winning that one because I doubt he would be given another one if he loses 3.There are plenty of fighters in that division who have legitimate claims to get title fights.
Hes looking to fight Geale in the next few months, would like if he got another fight in Vegas but it will probably be in New York.

Not really, this is definitely up there.

He beat Strum in Germany to be robbed by local favouritism and then lost to one of the all-time middlewights in history in a fight that was more than competitive for long stretches. Even now Martinez remains probably the #2 p4p boxer in the world.

A hell of alot of lesser boxers have ened up with world titles. If Macklin does it it will be among the best champions we've ever had because the sheer level of talent in and around this weight is at a near all-time high.

He could have been given the decision in Germany but wasn't and that happens every day of the week in boxing, there is always home town decisions.IMO he didnt do enough in the last 3/4 rounds to make it a foregone conclusion.

Against Martinez I don't think he ever really troubled him and Martinez looked fairly comfortable throughout.

I would love to see Macklin win a world title and with a bit of luck he will.He is a genuine nice fella. He has had some bad luck and in the past could have been more professional but hopefully he knuckles down for the next few years and retires having achieved his goals.
