hi there i was wondering if anyone could tell me how much ( adult) bus fare is for the 46a from leeson street to dun laoghaire ? cheers!

i'll probably be using the bus there frequently so would purchasing a weekly/ monthly ticket be a good choice? or leap card?

The cash fare is €2.65, or €2.40 using a Leap Card.

    A 5 day (non-consecutive) Rambler ticket costs €23, a 30 day (non-consecutive) Rambler ticket costs €115.

    the fare is 2.65,
if your doing a return trip a 30 day rambler for 115 euro is best as it works out at roughly 3.83 per day so that works out at 1.91 each way and you can use the ticket all day [the 30 days dont have to be consecutive] if your only doing a single journey and are not getting any buses later in the day a Travel 90 10 journey ticket is best its 21.50 so 10 journeys of 2.15 and you have 90 minutes after getting on the bus to transfer on to another bus for free

yeah i will be using the same route via returning to town so when i'm in a position to, i'll look into the 115 rambler (unfortunately like a lot i'm still looking for part-time work-soon to be college student).

I would get the dart since i live in the city centre but i've heard people say that via bus i better? financially for the moment perhaps it is, thanks again!!

for dun laoghaire to the city centre the DART is by far the quickest way - however if you are going to Leeson St then you would have a 10 minute walk from Pearse

ah really? yeah see the 46a would be handy for me because it will drop me off outside IADT , just wondering in terms on prices what would DART be like? and in comparison to the bus? thanks!

You're just tyre kicking now and wasting people's time. If you're going to the IADT from town then the 46A is the only option worth looking at so forget about the Dart.

And fares are all published on the Irish Rail and Dublin Bus websites.

the DART leaves you about a 25 minute walk away from IADT and is more expensive than the bus, so 46a is the most realistic option.

you should be eligible for the student version of the above mentioned 30 day rambler for €86, making it less than €3 a day.

you can also get travel 90 tickets, where ten journeys are 21.50, or 2.15 a trip if the cash for the 30 day ticket is steep
