I have an iPhone that is coming to the end of it's contract. If I upgrade can I still use the iPhone as an iPod touch or when the sim card is gone is that the end of it?Thanks

As far as I know you can, just pop out the sim card and use it as normal with exception of calls, texts and cellular data

It's still a phone, just get a "pay as you go" sim from your provider and keep your number. You may be able to get it unlocked too and use a sim from any of the other providers too. You can also sell it on as it's out of contract now. Have a look at adverts.ie.
