    Hello all,

My HTC Wildfire appears to have some form of software issue that I can't resolve. It's stuck on the Fastboot screen and the volume keys will not work to select any of the options available. Connecting via usb doesn't work either and it won't connect to htc sync.

Any help on what I can do would be greatly appreciated, really need to get the phone up and running again.

    Thanks in advance.

Try maybe something basic first .
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
Press and hold the VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN and END CALL/POWER buttons.
When you see a warning message on screen, press the VOLUME DOWN button to perform the factory reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
After factory reset is complete, press the VOLUME DOWN button to restart your phone.

Cheers for the reply but this doesn't seem to work either. The volume buttons work when held with the power button, but when the fastboot screen loads they don't work and I can't select any of the options available.

I wonder are the volume buttons stuck in the down position, if you power off and on the phone without holding the volume buttons does it boot into fastboot?

maybe try sticking a needle under the volume buttons to pop them back up? other than that it could be a hardware issue.

Yes it goes automatically into fastboot. I'll try shifting the volume keys upwards a little and see what happens but I'm beginning to think the phone will soon be a paperweight!
