    Hi

Do anyone know where I can get turmeric in Dublin? Would the best places be to get it in an Eastern shop?

It might b better to take curcumin, its the active ingredient in turmeric.
A lot of research s taking place on the health benefits of curcumin.

Her blog contains everything available on curcumin.

You can buy fresh Tumeric root in the Oriental Emporium behind Jervis. Be careful chopping it as it stains your fingers something else. My wife uses it in stir fries , gives a lovely flavour. I've read that has anti cancer properties too as well as apparently being good for asthma sufferers.

I heard it's great for Alzheimer's disease apparently eating it regularly reduces the sticky plaque on the brain.

Looking on tesco's site it would be €102 for 2kg!

It can be very cheap to get spices in bulk in these shops, but they can go off as it would take so long to use. Best to buy loads, and split the cost with friends or family, or just give it away to them.

The asian shop in georges street in dublin often have these big bags split into smaller bags themselves, and then are cheaper than the commercial 100g bags in the same shop.
