saorview coverage roebuck rd dublin

    hi,can anyone tell me if it would be possible to receive saorview with a good quality set-top aerial on the ground floor of a student house at ardilea off the roebuck road near ucd,thanks

    You should be in with a reasonable chance. Try a basic set top aerial from the 2€ shop. If it doesn't work out it's no great loss. 3rock is your best transmitter.

    Try what Gerry proposed and maybe extend the cable if needed. Try using a 20dB amplifier signal booster for cable signal losses and put the cheap aerial on the window sill facing the transmitter if possible. Give that a lash. It worked for me a few years ago in Swords. :)

    Also I recommend putting the aerial outside and doing a manual scan on channel 30. If this works then move it indoors and find the indoor place with the best reception.

    If you are on the east side of the building you will have less chance, but try it and see. It is amazing what works and what does not.
