Figure this might be a good place to request some assistance.

I've been struggling with my 3 wood for some time now ( typically low hook every strike) and I have fiddled around looking for a change. I picked up a lovely bargain second hand Taylor Made R11 earlier this year and in recent months have grasped how to hit it, and well its beautiful. Such a good strike.

So basically I want to get the matching 3 wood.

    I'm not interested in the R11"S" as I'm not paying €189 :)

    So I'm looking for

    Taylor Made R11 3 wood
    Regular shaft
    70G weight < -- this is important :)

They are literally like gold dust, since alot of people arn't upgrading to the S model.

If anyone comes accross this on/through
    • Ebay where they ship to Ireland
    • Adverts
    • Second hand bag in a shop
    • Pro shop
    • A friend looking to sell

I'd be willing to pay €100 max for a good condition one.

Thanks in advance, let the hunt begin :D

The shaft is easily changable to find a cheap one first and a shaft will be easy to pick up as a lot of guys will have changed them.

Bit pricey for what I'd be expecting to pay for an end of line wood.

Golf Bidder are a complete rip off - I would advise never buyng anyhting from them

I've a few fellas on ebay selling at a good price, in good nick and will ship to Ireland from UK. Would prefer buying in a store, or buying second hand in person, but it might be a last resort. These things are like rocking horse ****.

Although granted the idea above about buying a cheap one then swapping the shaft is very clever

Buying 2nd hand clubs can be a minefield given the amount if fakes out there. At least with Golfbidder you know you are getting a genuine club.

Here's one on DoneDeal, dunno if it's €160 each or for all three - http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/golf/3718049

Golfbidder would be my suggestion. Totally reliable and clubs are always in great condition

I picked up an R11 3 wood a couple of weeks ago on eBay for 45 quid plus it cost me another 20 quid shipping. It arrived OK and is a really good club off fairway and tee. Can't seem to hit it badly at all ;)

Just keep watching for one and the right one will turn up is my advice.

I have a taylormade burner 3 wood that I paid €50 second hand about 18 months ago. Easily the best ever golf purchase but I have ever made

This one^^ The most forgiving club I've ever seen. Been struggling with Driver so been hitting this 200-230 off the tee for past couple of months to get me back to basics and back on the fairway. I probably hit 60-70% of fairways with it.

This is me in action with it^^

    Kinda humming and haughing now.

For the last three rounds I've left the three wood out of the bag as I'm just not hitting it right at all. But I AM smashing this five wood. Bit of a realisation when my Da said " where would you actually use a three wood" and the answer was nowhere.

In current form, my 5 wood is going the distance, so probably going to just forget about a 3 wood :)

Yeah I see they are being cleared in Halpenny too, unfortunately the R11 got discontinued.

Had another good two rounds this weekend, where I didnt feel the need for a 3 wood.

Well if you're still tempted, there's one on eBay currently bidding at £5.50 with just under 3 days to go and has a 70gr shaft.

Don't forget that if they won't ship to Ireland but allow collections you can use Parcel2go to collect it for you and email the labels to the seller beforehand. They just have to package it up for you.

add ballast to it, by drilling holes into the head and pouring molten iron into the void for extra power

Would lead not be easier to melt and heavier too? It's just that I seem to have mislaid my smelting furnace.
