OP, neither are healthy, and there's studies to show that long term you put the weight back on, if you lose it in the first place.

As stated above, educate yourself. There's a load of information out there, and no better place to start than here on Boards.

People can be so quick to judge on boards! Weight Watchers is a great support system and it provides you with a lot of tools that will start you're weight loss on the right track and give you a foundation of knowledge about portions sizes and what foods to avoid when it comes to putting on weight.

Ok, it's not ideal in the long run because it doesn't teach you which foods are healthiest for a good nutritious diet but it does help you lose weight and in turn opens your mind to a new interest which will benefit you and your loved ones in the long term.

Utilise it as a vehicle to weight loss and good health because weight loss is tough and can be lonely and it can be difficult to remain motivated. Most important thing is that you start getting healthy one way or another!

Assuming you are pursuing one of those options because you feel you need the support etc, I would recommend Slimming World over WW, a hundred percent.

SW focuses on fresh home cooked food, of which you can have unlimited portions, so there is much less counting of any sort- except for your treats (syns) and healthy extras. It limits bread which WW doesn't, which for me anyway can only be a good thing. Also, I am in the UK but I have found the classes, or my particular leader at least, MUCH more involved than anyone at WW - giving out her phone number, email etc. The classes are much more in depth than WW- everyone has a chance to talk and the social aspect is a lot more present too. For example my group does 'tasting meetings', where everyone brings in samples of the food they cook. SW is cheaper too!
