Okay so a gym instructor in my gym told me today that Jack3d is in the process of being banned and taken off the shelves, just wanted to know does anybody have any info on this and is it true?

I find it a great pre-workout supplement to be completely honest

I thought you were joining up? No supplements allowed for crow bags!

I received an email from unsportsnutrition on Monday advertising that Jack3e was back and showing that it was a "Newe Formula", which probably means that some ingredient was removed to get it back on sale.

It is still for sale on their site. See here

Disclaimer: Mods, I have no involvement what so ever with unsportsnutrition other than as a customer. Just pointing out that they are advertising it as being "Back" and offering it for sale.

Yeah its not Jack3D that is banned but rather one of the ingredients, and not even the one you should be most interested in either.

I wonder how well jack3d micro sells without DMAA.

I'll never get the obsession with pre workout supplements.

Cheers for the link and thanks for letting me know, it amazes me how over one death something that helps thousands of other athletes to workout fine becomes banned, Sure smokes are still on the market

even one death is too many

and the cigarette issue is far more complex than just "they kill people, lets ban them"

What a joke.....geuss ill have to find a "safer" supplement to use now

or order it from the internet............

It's not really in fairness. 1,3-DMAA hasn't been around long enough to know the long term health effects of it, you're taking a substance where there is no solid evidence of it's long term effects.

If you want a PWO go with ON Amino energy IMO, caffeine supplied from natural sources along with BCAA's. You know exactly what you're taking the ingredients have been around long enough to know they're safe. 1,3-DMAA has been WADA banned for quite a while now, remember in the Autumn Internationals in 2010 some South African players were banned for taking 1,3-DMAA? They said it was a nasal decongestant, I'd say it was much more likely a PWO containing it.

Yes, the trillions in global tax revenue the industry generates is indeed a complicating factor.
If a b&w statement on the side of a packet of product that has hundreds of studies backing up the damage it does then it should be enough for a supplement who's lethality isn't even fully understood.

    Purchase a bear
    Bring it to the gym
Provoke it before you try a 1RM
Use adrenaline to hit a new 1RM
Rack the bar and get eaten by the bear.

I wonder what affect all these supplements many of us take will have down the line if any.

I mean, for one with the likes of BCAAs the liver is probably being over worked.
I doubt long term any "powder" mix can be all that good for you.
