So, out of curiousity, how is everyone going about it? Take the car/public bus/train/supporters bus? What time do you arrive in Dublin at? Tae and sandwiches made by Mammy or a bite to eat up in Dublin? Do you plan on going to the minor match and taking in the atmosphere in Croker or do you prefer taking in the 'pub atmosphere' and 'craic' before heading to the Senior game? Do you wait around Dublin for long after or head straight home to your respective county? What is your IDEAL All-Ireland Day Routine? Excitment starting to build already, great atmosphere around Galway and as I'm sure in Kilkenny also, roll on Sunday! :)

Being a KK man, I have my routine well practised :D :pac:

I'll be up early Sunday morning to have a nice breakfast. Then I'll get the bus (from Galway!) early enough up to Dublin and arrive around 11.30. I then walk over to Fagan's pub in Drumcondra to have dinner and meet up with my parents, sister, cousins, aunties, uncles and all the rest of my family. I usually head to Croke Park for the minor game. I normally would head back to Kilkenny then after the match but this year I will be heading back on the bus to Galway.
I look forward to it more and more each time we reach the final :)

The definitive way of doing the all-Ireland, from a Kerry perspective.

LAST MINUTE CHECKLIST FOR THE ALL IRELAND 2009...

    KERRY PREPARATIONS:

The ham sandwiches have been made,
the 2 litre bottles of Bulmer's have been bought,
the spare underpants have been packed,
the bank account has been cleaned out and a bundle of crisp 50 euro notes
resides temporarily in the back pocket,
the holy water has been sprinkled on the jersey, the vomit, pizza and blood of a Cork man have been washed off the jersey with the spare holy water,
the 1983 ford escort saloon has been filled with petrol,
the leak in the petrol tank of the 1983 ford escort saloon has been sealed up with silage tape,

the text to the lucky Dublin lass who last saw some Kerry action in
    September 2008 has been sent,
the half tube of genital herpes cream bought after coming back from Dublin
    2008 has been repacked,
the VCR has been set to record at 12:30pm on Sunday,
the backup generator has been disconnected from the milking parlour and connected directly to the VCR, the herd of Friesian cows have been put into the silage field and told to hang on tight till Monday evening,

the 2-man emergency tent has been packed, a practice drill assembling the 2 man tent after drinking 16 pints of Guinness and 6 cans of Harp has been successfully completed - taking 7.5 hours.
400 Denny sausages and 12 boxes of Clonakilty black pudding have been packed into the 'emergency' container, 24 cans of Harp and a
bottle of Powers have also made it in, 1 cd with 14 different versions of the Rose of Tralee packed,
one English/Cork dictionary packed, 2 precious tickets to the 2009 All-Ireland final have been placed in an envelope,
sealed, the envelope placed in a larger envelope, sealed, then placed in an even larger envelope, sealed, the envelope then folded up and put in a sock, the sock then wrapped in an unwashed pair of underpants, the
underpants stuffed into a shoe, the shoe put in a box, the box taped up with industrial grade tape and put in a safe, the safe put into a secret compartment under the back seat of the saloon, a hurley placed
on the back seat of the saloon, a bloodied no. 14 Beale jersey from the 1982 North Kerry Championship 1/4 final placed next to the hurley....
have I missed anything? ... oh yea, and the 4 day weather forecast for Dublin checked.

    CORK PREPARATIONS:

    1) Unfounded hope of winning all-Ireland

    2) ....... anything else???

Breakfast...pints....first half...another pint.... second half....watch Fergal Moore lift the Liam McCarthy...chips.... home and listening to the sport show on Radio 1 for analysis interviews etc...home.....shower.....lots and lots of pints.

Alot of smoking inbetween those intervals. Im going to be a nervous wreck for the day. Galway really do have a good chance....we could just as easly be slaughtered too though.

Galway Manager Anthony Cunningham's routine on the day.

Pre match speech in the dressing room.

"Right lads, you've hammered Kilkenny already this summer.
Just go out and do it again.
You know what to do and how to do it.
Only go a bit easier on them this time.
A 3 or 4 point win will do nicely.
See ye after - don't forget the cup."

    Job Done.

Seeing as this is my 32nd Hurling final, I have a fairly good routine. I wake up in Dublin, seeing as that is where I am from. Get myself a breakfast, shaved, dressed and off to mass. Back home, a look at the paper and a little time online. Then I'll make final preparations, like food, a camera, in today's case put my Dublin shirt on, then head off for the Luas, into town, straight to Croke Park for the minor match as usual, take in the atmosphere of the day and wait for the big one, and if there isn't anyone to meet for a pint afterwards, I'll head home and of course take in the Sunday Game. Long before the day is over, the inevitable question will come to mind. "Who will win it next year?" Then the whole process will begin again looking forward to next year's league and championship and back round to All-Ireland Hurling Final day. Of course there is also the matter of the All-Ireland Football final to go to in a couple of weeks. A similar routine shall apply. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've an All-Ireland Hurling final to go to. Byeeee! :)

Im a Cork woman, and every year I suffer the shame of watching my Father erect the Kilkenny flag on our front lawn on All Ireland weekend. At least this year he forgot the bunting.
Routine on the day is usually just to get dinner cooked and eaten before the game LOL
