Hi all. I am looking to start my weight loss/ exercise programme again:rolleyes: and will be going for professional help. my question is this. i have come to love the Boards on another forum which is a sort of hobby/interest of mine, and was just wondering if there is support or help here for my weight loss programme.

Have you lost weight / got fit successfully and if so in what way did you use boards for help support accountablility or whatever?
any tips or ideas much appreciated.

Like 99% of pople i know my initial enthusiasm will wear off and then I will be in the great hunt for continuing motivation.:o
    Thanks!

When I lost all my weight, I had a food diary on here. ( you can still read them even tho the thread is locked!) I lost 6 stone in total and the diaries were so amazing!!!! Everyone was so supportive and we all checked in on each other everyday or so to see how things were going.

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, the shut the diaries down. I keep a diary on a little forum us food diary people set up ourselves. That way I still have the support when I need it. You can PM me for the address if you want, I don't want to post it here in case I'm accused of advertising or something!

It's a great help, read loads of threads, learn as much as you can and put what you learn into practice. There's so much to learn from other posters here, and the knowledgeable ones will become clear the more you post. One thing that I have learnt is that I'm doing this, not anyone else so I'm not accountable to anyone else, only me and it's much more difficult to hide things from myself. At the same time I know that if I need help figuring anything out or getting more information on something then all I have to do is ask and there's people way more knowledgeable than me willing to help.

Really just read a lot of threads, gather knowledge and ask for help if/when you need it.

I'm delighted the food diaries are closed. Looking back on my one I wish someone had told to me to cop the f on but I don't think that was allowed.

OP Read the stickies. There is loads of information in there. It might be a little overwhelming at first but it's well worth the read.

I guess you need motivation and support, you want to go toward your goal but you lack support. I too was at your stage 6 months ago. Then i chose a wonderful diet plan from a well known nutritionist. Beside giving wonderful and effective tips to get fit, she also keeps me motivated, I believe you should also go for the same.

Sorry to post off topic, but the voyeur in me went and had a look at your food diary. Wow, you have come such a long way from those days. You really should have a look back at the early days and look at where you are now. You should be an inspiration to us all.

It actually makes me sick to think that's how I ate.

If it makes you feel better your not the only one, I had a look at mine and I mention being sick more than once. I also ended up on fitday and had a look back at at Feb 2011 it still wasn't great then! It seemed to be a slow progress for me to get to where I am now and I'm not done yet.

We all had to start somewhere.
