Sooo I got some funds together finally

I have about 9000 to spend on a volkswagen golf preferable if not a passat or jetta!

I want the most fuel efficient diesel within ^ that bracket as possible, what BHP is the most fiel efficient as I am hearing reports of 110 bhp? although i havnt found a golf with that spec yet

Please contribute with other diesels or hybrids incase I dont know of them! Also not a small car, I was going to buy a TDI polo until I drove it and i didnt like it so a Golf would be as small as Id go

Also something easy on the eye, not like a skoda fabia or something like that

    Thanks all

You sure you're doing the mileage for a diesel?

If so, have a look at a Alfa 147 diesel. They're cheap to buy and run, the drive well and look good. Suits your criteria IMO.

It never ceases to amaze me the silly money people look for VAG diesels.

Wouldn't have a red one of those. I'd nearly put money on it being an ex-reps car and somebody putting an aftermarket leather interior therefore justifying €9k for a near 7 year old Audi base model with 214k km.

    Lol

Most of the TDi engines were/are very decent engines but the competition make very decent alternatives also. The Germans are very good at marketting though.
