Pay someone to paint kitchen cabinets or do it myself?

Our kitchen badly needs a makeover and I've been wanting to paint our kitchen cabinets for a while now. Would it be expensive to pay someone to do it? Just the sanding really because I could do the painting myself.

I'm just worried that it's too much for me to take on. The kitchen consits of 11 lower cabinets and 8 upper cabinets. I don't mind doing it myself but worried it could take me three times longer than a professional!

Could anyone advise me on this? What are the pros and cons? I have no idea how much this work would cost. I'm located in Cork btw.

sanding is a minor part of painting units. there already prefinished.
they need to be washed

they have to be primed
under coated
2 top coats
there is a lot of work in doing it correctly.
