Agents do they really have to behave like this?

I am now dealing with agents again as I look for a contract. Don't know if I am having a bad day but they are really annoying me.
First off there is the vapour jobs. Posted today but turns out there is no job.

Secondly they tell you they have a special relationship with the client and if you don't go with them you won't get the interview. So having your CV in with two agents is better.

Thirdly a ton of questions which show they have no idea what you do. Have you life and pensions experience? 15 years of systems is nothing as obvious life and pensions are massively different from all other financial systems.

Really annoyed me today. One of them wanted to bring me in so they could interview me even though they had no positions.

    Hello.

Seems to be a recurring theme with recruiters that the vast majority really don't know what they are doing and can't read a cv properly. :)

You are best off applying direct to companies if possible to find a job - use LinkedIn as well. The number of jobs that Recruiters post online that are fake is staggering.

And meeting up for an interview is just a way of getting you on their books. Do it if you want but in my experience if the Recruiter hasn't got a job that matches your skills it may be a waste of time.
