Hurt my shoulder doing behind-neck-presses.

So I was told a behind-neck push press was one of the best overall exercises. I did them a couple of times and thought they were safe enough but I added weight too soon. I failed on a couple of reps, started to feel a pain in my right delt, then gave up the exercise for good. A month later, the pain is still there when I do any sort of overhead pressing. I was doing dumbbell presses and found that I could press more on my left arm, which is normally my weaker one.

I really don't want to give up on pressing, I have a couple of strength goals that I want to hit ASAP. (1.5X bw bench, bodyweight overhead press). I already do plenty of pulling exercises so I don't have any muscular imbalances, it's just that stupid exercise I did which caused the problem. Has anyone any good rehab exercises for the shoulder pain? I was thinking maybe band-pull aparts or very light dummbell external rotations. It's really not my area of expertise so if anyone could gimme some advice it would be great.

Look at shoulder flossing exercises on mobilitywod and lots of band pull aparts and external rotation work.
