    From late September there will be a class starting at UCC in Cork with the Irish Ancestral Research Centre [IARC], Limerick.
    The Diploma in Genealogy Studies
    of
    The Centre for Adult Continuing Education, UCC

    Would you like to learn more about your genealogical legacy, locality and region,
    and earn an NUI University Diploma in the process?
    The Diploma in Genealogy Studies may well suit you!

    Applications are now invited for this distance learning diploma (NFQ, Level 7),
    which is specially tailored for adult learners wishing to obtain a third-level qualification in their locality.

    University tutors and lecturers will attend weekly at University College Cork (UCC), Western Road, in Cork city centre from September 2012,
    providing an invaluable opportunity, through genealogy,
    to facilitate the interdisciplinary study of the past and develop
    research skills to engage in the study of the past in a genealogical context.

    The diploma comprises fieldtrips to archives, interdisciplinary training, supervision of written essays and a thesis/dissertation on the topic of your choice, in a contextualised genealogical framework.

    Duration: The course will be offered on a part-time basis over 2 years.
    Fee: €1,360 per annum (€1,000 per annum if retired/unwaged) for the academic year 2012-2013;
    flexible payment in instalments
