Oil type for BMW 318i - 2006

    Hi all,

    Quick question - can someone tell me the oil type for a 2006 BMW 318 petrol?

    NCT in the morning and the oil light has been coming on for the past while. The CEL came on this evening as herself was driving home so going to top up the oil to see if that knocks it off.

    Checked the other service parameters and the car itself says there is nothing due so if this doesn't work, will have to drop the car in somewhere to have it looked at.

    Its just the "top up" light that came on. Car is telling me its below the minimum so I need to get oil into it tonight!

    Do you know what grade oil I can use?

    Got some oil for it an topped up to correct levels now.

    No change in the CEL light being on though and the engine seems "juddery".

    Think I need to drop it in!
