Hi just wondering which would be a good upgrade from a 03 Micra.

I need to go the small/medium family hatch route with good boot size for buggy/pram.

I've one child and another on the way so with budget €3,500 max what would you suggest. I'd prefer a hatchback as like to throw down seats to load stuff from time to time. I only use this car for nipping around the village, creche runs and odd country run twice year.

I'm looking at 05/06 1.4 Focus/Octavia's, more so Octavia as I like the room it has. Coming from a 1L Micra I'm not too worried about power! Any owner reviews on focus/octavia's?

    Thanks in Advance

Go for the octavia all day long. We have 2 a 2005 and 2011. Great car boot is huge roomy enough inside too. The type off car that is so reliable turn the key and go no hassle. If you can get one go for a 1.9tdi diesel miser on diesel and would be alot more powerful than the micra. But there is also a 1.4 petrol which you dont hear much bad about. obviously the 1.4 won't be anywhere near as good on fuel.

Just seen the budget probably go for petrol as you don't do much driving. plus the cheapest new model diesel you would get would be 4500 euro

Hi New Year's here & 2nd on way now, need to change in by mid Feb, can anyone offer any advise on above. With tax going up i'm trying to keep to a 1.4 engine now but would an octavia be too underpowered, don't drive to much, just around village etc. Any opinions from other focus/octavia 1.4 users? Also I'm also leaning towards a scenic as I find small mpv's a little easier to load kids in/out of, but worried about renault's reliability, any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!
