Driver of the day: Round 12 Belgian Grand Prix

So who was your driver of the day?
Button was flawless at the front but a very solid drive from Vettel netted second place. Kimi never really seemed to get to grips with his car today and while he had a great battle, and superb overtaking move, with Schumi it always felt that he was chasing the car rather than being in a position to challenge.
Hulkenberg really took advantage of the carnage at the start and was rewarded with fourth and both Toro Rosso drivers finished with points

I kinda hate giving driver of the day to pole winners who had no overtaking/racing to do, so I shall stick to not doing it.

So, given that, the choice is easy. Vettel drove like a true champion today. I don't even like him, but it'd be childish to deny how good he was today. Racing/overtakes/defending/skill...it was all there in droves.

Vettel is the clear choice for me.

    +1,
    Hard to disagree with that.

Kimi drove a pig-Lotus yesterday and still managed to pull the best overtake move of the season so far, and it sticked, and against Schumi
Glad to have resolved dilemma of who is The King of SPA :)

Vettel was impressive too, especially with lightning fast thinking and reactions few meters before pit entry - didn't follow Schumi there but continued for another lap to gain time on clear track.
Anyway, the finger had some arrogant moves.

Button is fantastic but can't give full credit to him because this "perfect weekend" thing is not happening for the first time this season. We have seen many different drivers had absolutely everything in place what comes to tyres, technical reliability, car setup and pit-stop functionality.
I will give Button 10 in Monza shall he repeat the same and prove he is better than Hamilton in more than two races this year.

I didn't think it was that good a move, if I remember correctly he was pretty much past him at the start of the corner. It wasn't a patch on Webber pass on Alonso, now that was a overtake!

If Schumacher kept his foot in it, it would have been an identical pass iirc.

Voted for Jenson but fair play to Nico Hulkenberg and the Torro Rosso boys.

I've a bit of a soft spot for Massa, he had an ok day but I reckon he'll look back on this as a missed chance, he'll hardly get many races where he's the only Ferrari driver on track.

See someone voted for Lewis, looks like he has a boards account as well as a twitter account.

    Really?

I see maybe 4 metres difference in Webber's advance over Kimi, comparing position of their cars within a line with Alonso and Schumi respectively. Both overtakes happend at the first apex.

I think Kimi had harder time because he knew he was significially slower at the kemmel straight. Some drivers wouldn't bother trying overtake when is almost certain you loose position in the next kilometer -better preserve tyres or save fuel or just chillax and take whatever points. Not Kimi.

Also, Alfonso came just out of the pits with cold tyres.

Just to be different I'm going to say Massa, he drove like he actually remembered how for a change

Voted Vettel for his aggression and skill. His overtake on webber.

Honour mention to JB, but he was just out for a sunday drive.

Hulk did a great job, he is starting to beat Paul. He was a bit rusty from last year.

Webber Massa NR should have done better. Poor MS

Gave it to vettel. Some drive after the bad start.
Not bad for a lad that some people say cant overtake.

Yeah he's certainly left people with no doubts now, he has the whole package. I think these days though, he's a far superior racer than he was when those overtaking discussions were taking place
