Inexpensive Vegan Shampoo

    Hi!

I'm not really a vegan (more a very strict vegetarian) but I've been trying to start using as little animal products as possible. However I'm finding a decent, not-too-pricey vegan shampoo difficult to come by. I have quite thick hair and use quite lot in one wash.

I know lush do some but they're not exactly cheap and I don't know anyone who's used them.

    Anyone here have any ideas?

    Thanks! :)

I use Lush. The hard ones in particular last for ages, and you can get a great lather out of just a tiny bit of the liquid shampoos - I really do find that they last a good long time because they're better quality than the Tesco shampoos, and you don't need to use as much of them.

I have tried the shampoo bars in lush before. They lasted for absolutely ages.

Thanks for the reply! :) Do you have any particular ones you'd recommend, preferably liquid ones?

Depends on your hair type I guess. They have one for curly hair, greasy hair etc. Of the conditioners, Veganese is amazing, and is vegan like the name suggests :D

Weleda, I have a lot if hair myself and dont need much to get it all washed. It doesn't come cheap, but IMO that's made up for by the fact it will last a long time.

M&S do shampoo and conditioners for 1.25 per bottle (think it's a 250ml bottle), all their cosmetic and household stuff is BUAV approved, hope that helps!

I use Original Source hair and body wash (I don't know what gender you are but it's designed for men). It comes in lots of different 'flavours' such as lemon & lime and black pepper & chili. They smell really nice. I can't remember the exact price but I think it's under €3.00 a bottle. Most, but not all, of them are vegan. The ones that are vegan have a vegan society logo on the back. I've made the mistake of not checking a couple of times as I assumed they were all vegan until I noticed the logo wasn't on the label.

I've never seen a bottle but apparently they also make shampoo on its own although I'm not sure which ones are or aren't vegan.

If you're over the border/near a Superdrug, they do vegan shampoo and conditioners in their own brand range for £1. I usually stock up when I'm there.

I've bought the solid shampoo and solid conditioner for my sister from lush and she loved them, like everyone else said they do last ages. Haven't tried them myself yet.
