I like them, they are stylish enough from most angles and a rare sight here too. Price and spec seems decent enough. Would not worry too much about the mileage, it's not that high for a 3 year old UK diesel car, probably spent a bit of time on their motorway network. Just verify the service history with the garages who serviced it and do a HPI check. Underneath they are the same as a standard Passat so will have the same strengths and weaknessess.

One thing I wasn't mad about is that the seating position is a good bit lower than the normal passat. I found it a bit more awkward getting in and out of it but certainly could live with it. Otherwise it's a passat and thier reputation is a lot better than most cars and they truly handle big mileage with no major headaches. A lot of the UK cars wouldn't never have seen a bad road or a pothole in their lives.

As for price it doesn't look too bad but check the rate of sterling, it's not great at the moment so when VRT is factored in it might not be the bargain you think it is. There's currently one similar for sale on donedeal with Uk plates for €12750 with a bit more mileage and the VRT quote is about €3800. Depending on how hard you haggle you could have it on the road for €15000-€15500.

OP, the car is gorgeous. I hope it checks out for you.

If I was buying any vw 2.0 tdi, I would get the engine code and check it out as some versions of the 2.0 tdi mean big repair bills.

    £9,799 = €12,358

    VRT @20% = €3,591

    Travel / Transport / VRT / NCT= €300 ?

Landed € 16,249 as a conservative estimate. Probably nearer to €17,000 with the exchange rate you'd get from the bank.

€18,995 before any discount, cash sale should be under €18,000.

Saving isn't so great, especially if you factor in that there is essentially no warranty coming from the UK (or a lot of travelling back to Cargiant).

Passat CC is a lovely looking car, but a Passat Highline gives you better specification for less money.

Lovely car op hope it works out for you. Price seems good too. It's nice to have a car in Ireland that's quite rare as I don't see passat cc to often

On the other hand it would have been a cracker of a buy a year ago went the exchange rate was a lot better.
