This is my latest toy. It's no Nikonos RS that I really want but it should be fun. Test roll back on Monday (from shooting at Arrakis sand dunes from NooSixty's thread ironically enough).

I don't know how to describe it. It's not an SLR, its not a Rangefinder. You guess the focus distance, its not easy to use, it weighs a ton but has the most satisfying muted thud/click.

I've not regreased/sealed it so no underwater fun with it yet. If/when the test roll comes back it's time for underwater fun.

Cute. Does some sort of auto-DOF display as well by the looks of things ?

Yeah, as you change the aperture the dials for your DOF move closer or further apart. so for close ups I pace the distance for wider apertures! For the first roll I was trying to shoot at f/22 just to make sure everything was sharp!

Those sand dunes were so amazing too. Like another planet. Seriously I ran about 1Km out into them to the highest peak I could find. It was a mix of Dune and Mad Max III. The sky was so bright and the sand was so reflective it was perfectly balanced exposure I think. I left my roll in this morning but the lab weren't processing today....I have to wait until Monday :(

I have an earlier one. Think it's the III. It doesn't have the sexy orange panels but it has the "Viewfinder" accessory which clips into the Hot Shoe. Made to be able to operate with thick diving gloves. Also have a Lightmeter in a housing for available light work.

Just got my first roll back. Good enough results for first time using the camera. I'm glad I shot on as small an aperture as possible. Some slightly weird colouration from the waterproof glass in front of the lens. Some shots are really warm, some shots are really cold? Definitely going to take a few rolls to get to grips with it.
