Wooden Fence

    Hi all,

I recently got wooden picket fencing installed in my front garden. The wood is pressure treated.

I now want to paint the fence white. Before I paint it, could anyone tell me whether I should first apply a wood preservative or varnish, in order for it to be longer lasting and/or to allow the paint to go on easier?

Many thanks for any advice given.

not really necessary if its been treated, just make sure its not sitting on soil or has soil lying against it as this will eventually start to rot it.
